DATE: Around September 14th
WHERE: On the edge of Mirkwood, near the Old Forest Road
SUMMARY: The dwarves have made it to the last major obstacle on their road to Erebor - Mirkwood. Unlike on Thorin's quest to reclaim the mountain, however, this time they're not to be left to blunder through on their own. A very uneasy agreement with the elves was struck, and part of it was mutual safe passage through each others' lands. Here, too, the group is to split up - with the majority going straight through, but Thorin has other plans.
WARNING(S): Do elves warrant a warning? Thorin would say so. But probably not.

DATE: Approximately August 30th
WHERE: Near Rivendell The Western foothills of the Misty Mountains.
SUMMARY: The dwarves are moving on from the Trollshaws, and into the actual mountains. What could possibly go wrong? Except, a lot of things. Namely goblins.
WARNING(S): These goblins are going to have a bad day. Some dwarves may be stabbed. Typical Tuesday night, really.

DATE: August 25th (just makin' up things as I go)
WHERE: Trollshaws
SUMMARY: So. Last time, when they'd definitely been on a death defying quest, no one taught him a thing about weaponry and handling. Now that they're on a, more or less, easy travel, Thorin has deemed it appropriate that Bilbo be taught how to use a bow. This might be partly Bilbo's fault. He did bring up swordplay back in the Shire. Does that mean he hadn't done particularly well with Sting during their quick lesson if Thorin is now pushing a bow on him? Hmph.
WARNING(S): Bilbo might accidentally maim someone. Okay no. Maybe? Nah.

Keep your feet ready, heartbeat steady. Keep your eyes open, keep your aim locked. )

DATE: Continuing from this post.
WHERE: Camping out somewhere past Bree on the East-West Road.
SUMMARY: Most of the old Company plus several dozen newcomers are on their way back to Erebor, and now that the entire group has been reunited, it seems like a good idea to break out the good ale and make a party of it now before the roads get more uncertain.
WARNING(S): Drunken shenanigans are likely to abound, but nothing tooo crazy. (... I think?)

DATE: Summer? LOL narrows it down. After this.
WHERE: Shire | Bilbs' crib
SUMMARY: The rainstorm has moved on, but it's left behind more than just a dwarf on his doorstep. Bilbo finally remembers his garden – scandalous for a hobbit, right? – and goes about tending to it, all the while, possibly giving Thorin a lesson or two of hobbit habits along the way.
WARNING(S): Thorin being a doofus prolly. Also complete lack of gardening knowledge on my end; I think his garden is in the front and to the side? The layout plan of Bag End helps but omg I wish there was an actual, film picture of his vegetable garden

[One should not underestimate the ability of a thirsty dwarf to find ale. Even a dwarf that may not have the best sense of direction, and that has been thrown into completely unfamiliar territory. By whatever luck or good grace of higher powers, it turns out that Thorin and Bilbo do not have to travel far in order to find a tavern that looks rather like The Prancing Pony in Bree. The cobblestone road outside of it is cleaner, and the people - mostly humans - milling about this town seem less furtive and hurried than Thorin remembers. This place seems generally less perilous for the average traveler.

The warm glow from within the tavern shines through the slightly dingy windows, and the muffled sound of a merry crowd carries out into the night in brief snippets as patrons come and go.

Good enough.

Shouldering the pack that somehow managed to accompany him, and dropping a hand to the sword at his side, Thorin pulls the door open and heads inside without hesitation, knowing that Bilbo won't be far behind.]
