[ Gandalf is an incredibly frustrating figure. As indispensable as the wizard could be, Thorin does not like to depend on anything so fickle. The main problem, in his view, is that Gandalf simply has his nose in too many businesses at once, and tries to juggle them all with varying degrees of success, all the while without revealing too much information about any of it along the way. His nebulous assurances, the sudden changes of plans, every time he subverted one of Thorin's direct commands... That Gandalf always seems to be right doesn't really change the fact that he can be absolutely infuriating.

All of that said, he is grateful for the wizard's assistance and counsel, without it his quest would have been a lost cause, even though such feelings are far more grudging there than they are toward Bilbo. His guidance here and now would not be unwelcome. ]


A disturber of your peace, at least. Perhaps also among his elvish friends.

[ ...Thorin will never be fond of elves. Even if certain ones have been better than useless as of late. ]
