Frustration is abruptly absent from the set of his shoulders. It is not defeat, or sorrow, or indecision that stays it, but rather a sense of clarity. This is the sort of respect and openness that Thorin showed him in that moment at the Carrock. There's even the faint hint of a fond smile. ]
